Yesterday was my first Rez Day, hard to believe I have been in Second Life a year.
In RL I tend to use birthdays to look back at the year, and think about the future. There has been a lot of changes in my SL in the past year, I have started blogging, been to 2 Dr Dobbs summits, bought some land and set up a house and started to DJ again. There was also some thing that was not so good, I ended my first real SL relationship.
Relationships are hard in RL, and even harder in SL, everything is intensified, magnified and accelerated. There comes a time in every relationship, that you have to look at it and decide whether it is time to go to the next level or if it has gone as far as it is going to. Unfortunately both people may not feel the same about that, that is where I was at… I did not want to keep her hanging on to the hope that things may go farther. So I broke off the relationship. I tried to stay friends, but that in the end does not seem to have possible. For this I am sorry, but do not regret my decision, I had to do what I felt was right.
I had wanted to spend some time with two people who are special to me, but things did not work out the way I had hoped, and the rest of the evening pretty much went down the tubes. Well if nothing else it is one Rez Day I will not forget for a while.
Hopefully I have learned somethings over the past year, and will be able to apply them to the future that is yet to come.
One thing I want to do is to thank all of the people I have met in the past year, for being part of my experience in SL, and I look forward to meeting many new people and making new friends.
