During the process I started to think about how closely related my SL & RL are. Because DesertWolf in SL is, to me, just an extension of myself into the metaverse.. so I am DesertWolf, and he is me.

So now to answer Myg’s question.. you have to go back quite a few years, back to the mid to late 90s. Back then when the Internet was young and AOL was King… I started doing website design frelance. At the time I was living on the High Desert are of Colorado. I needed a name for my company, I have a thing for wolves, so I started looking at domain names. Well wolf.com and Wolves.com were taken so I started thinking a bit more creatively. I figured I lived in the desert, so DesertWolf was born.. problem was Desertwolf.com was owned by a Middle Eastern company.. so I ended up with DesertWolf Designs.. Ever sice then I have used DesertWolf for my handle whenever I could. The last name, Longstaff, was just a matter of what was available when I joined SL. I am interested in the Middle Age, so when while going through the list of available last names I came across Longstaff…

So that is the story of my name…

I had been considering it, alot of what I wanted to post really didn’t justify a full blog post, then when it was time to put together a review of past activities, I either couldn’t remember the time line or even would forget a thing or two. The Twitter account solves this problem.

I have added a Twitter update area to the right at the top of the first column, over the calendar.

Well someone else will have to be the guinea pig for this one, my laptop does not have a Vertex Shader, which the program needs to run….So that means it’s requirements are even higher than SL’s! It is pretty bad when an email program has higher requirements than a Virtual World…..

Actually I am a little releaved, now I have an excuse not to play with it….

I have been thinking about what I could do for a job, I am not up enough on my LSL code fu to be a scripter for higher, and I am not a builder really, so I thought what have I done in RL that I could do in SL?

Well the only thing that came to mind was DJ’ing. I had DJ’ed for a little over 5 years in “Gentlemen’s Clubs” in RL, so at the last SL Bloggers party I talked with Alex about what software to use,and other questions about DJ’ing in SL and mentioned I was thinking about getting back into DJ’ing. He said I was welcome to come and practice at Clockwork SLurl, so tonight I make my debut as a SL DJ at 8pm SLT. So come on down, I will be playing a mix of Alternative & Hard Rock, with a few oddities thrown in.

My only problem now is, I don’t have a cool DJ name like DJ keTchUp, :( so I will be taking suggestions…. :)
