All the rumors of my death are greatly exagerated, I have just been busy with RL, and have actually been doing some building aside from my usual DJ set at alt7.

On thing that has come out of the building is my new venture. I have opened a shop called DW Designs. I am currently makeing slave/sub collars and will expand from there as I can. I have started a blog to keep shop stuff seperate from my other activites. I also have my collars for sale on Xstreet SL, so check them out, check out the blog, give me some feedback. 

Man time fly’s, tonight I will be celebrating my 1 year anniversary of dj’ing at alt7!!! So I what better way to celebrate than to play some of my favorite tracks to night during my set. Come out and join me tonight from 9pm ot midnight SLT as I rock alt7 into Sunday morning!!

Well this has been an rough week for my poor iBook. Thursday night I was suppose to dj for COFE Radio, but whas trouble connecting to and holding the stream, so I ran a software up date, and when it was done did the required reboot… Well it decideded it did not want to reboot it just sat at the start up screen. Great just what I need, the iBook is my dj rig, it has all my dj software on it, if it is down, so am I. So I start hitting the forums, seems I am not the only one having trouble with this update. So I start going through all the normal repair procedures, and nothing is working. OK, so it looks like I have to do an archive and reinstall. not that big a thing…except I do not have the install disk for the version of OSX I am using..and my dj software has to have at least OS X.4. Great that leaves only one choice, I will have to upgrade to OS X.5, but $129.00 is cheaper than a new computer so yesterday I run to the Santan Village Apple store and pick up a copy and run home to do the a&i. There is just one problem….not enough disk space to do it!!! . OK, what to do now?
Well after som thinking..I remember I can run the system off an external drive, and I have a firewire housing, so I find a good size drive laying around, put in the housing, plug it in, format it and start the install…
Flash ahead 2 hours..ok 1 hour and 40 mins…I now have an OS on the external drive I reboot the iBook……………………..
YAY!! I have a live computer again, and my iBooks drive shows as an accessable drive, so now i can retreave my files.
SO now I am in the process of doing file recovery and getting my external iTunes library all nice and happy with the new iTunes. Once I get all that done, email working, iTunes all back and have my dj software installed and working.. I will clone the external drive, and restore it to my iBooks drive, I should then be back live! There are still some things I will need to install, but I should be able to dj again..as long as the inital problem I had that started all this, was a software problem and not an ISP one..but that is something I will have to wait a bit to find out.

I am trying out a new service for blog comments callled Disqus,  It is suppose to make the comments more forum like. Guess we will see.

Well I am back after the strike, it did not last 30 days, but it seems to be the general consensus that our point was made.

While I was not posting I was cleaning up some things, doing some exploring, and looking back at some things I had also been neglecting, like my stumbler account. When I went to it there was a message from a person going by the name of 2ndlifer says she, I think she is a she, is the community manager of a new Second Life blogging community site www.SweetSecondLife.com. Well I decided to check it out. It is not a bad site, and if their metrics for determining rank are as even as they say it should prove to be an interesting site. I started digging around , and came across a section called ” Today’s Recommended Blogs”, and  look who is #3…..      

Now this was interesting, and even more so when I checked and found that the link was to my old original WordPress.com blog, not my current self hosted one. Not sure why the old site is getting attention, but not complaining:).

Anyway I went ahead and joined the Sweet  Second Life community, and have added one of their badges to my blog. It will be interesting to see how I progress over the next few weeks.

As for my current dj schedule..I am on COFE Radio Tuesday & Thursday nights from 10pm to midnight slt, and at alt7 Friday & Saturday nights from 9pm to midnight slt. So listen in or come by the club.

Well figures I start getting things together to start posting and the Lab decides to clamp down on things.

Zoe has joined the strike, and brought up a good point, 3 days really is not that noticiable, she has upped it to 30 days..see her post here. I am with her..30 days..

Well the update to WordPress 2.5 went pretty smooth. All my widgets crossed over, and my Ajax picture effects still work. The one snag I ran into was my podcasts would not work, and all that took to fix was going into Podpress and setting the path to my media folder. So I have to say this has been one of the easier upgrades I have ever done.

Even with the current questions about SL blogs, I am going ahead and upgrading to WordPress 2.5, I have done it two a couple of other blogs, but this one has quite a few more plug-ins, so will see how it goes. So if things look a little rough around here for a while you will know what is going on.

And we are celebrating with a 7 hour dj marathon and cash giveaway on Sunday March 24.

As you’ll know, alt7 celebrates its first birthday on Sunday. The plan is to start at 7pm SLT with the theme “7 DJs, 7hrs, 7 Major Prizes” (7000L are being given away each hour).

So come hang out with us as we party down for 7 hours and listen to some of the best alternative & indie music in Second Life at alt7!
